Health insurance plans in Duval County, Florida (2026)

I pulled every 2026 marketplace plan sold in Duval County, Florida out of the official CMS plan file. There are 142 plans from five carriers, and a 40 year old in Duval pays $682 a month at full price for the benchmark silver plan. That puts Duval in the middle of the 20 Florida counties I track, with 10 cheaper and 9 pricier. Across all 79 counties and parishes I track in 24 states, 26 have a higher benchmark. Below are the carriers, the plan counts, the full prices before subsidy, and what I think the numbers mean if you live in Jacksonville, the Beaches or anywhere else in the county.

Who sells marketplace plans in Duval County

Five companies sell in Duval, against ten in the busiest Florida county I track and four in the thinnest. Florida Blue alone accounts for 68 of the 142 plans in Duval, 48 percent of the shelf, so a lot of what you see when you shop is one company's lineup in different metal levels.

What it costs in Duval County before any subsidy

These are the full monthly prices, before any premium tax credit, for the cheapest Duval plan at each metal level. I show the sticker price because it is what your subsidy is subtracted from, and most people who enroll in Duval pay less, often a lot less.

Benchmark silver is the second lowest of the 50 silver premiums listed for Duval. The last column is two adults aged 40 plus two children.

What these numbers mean if you live in Duval County

The gold row is the surprise in Duval County. The cheapest gold plan for a 40 year old, $624 a month, is $15 cheaper than the cheapest silver plan at $639. That happens because Florida carriers load the cost of the extra silver discounts into silver premiums. If your income is too high for those discounts, silver is the worst value on the Duval shelf, and a gold deductible here tops out at $3,000.

In Duval County the benchmark is $180 above the cheapest bronze at age 40, and 39 of the other 78 counties and parishes I track have a wider one. That gap decides whether bronze can be free, because your subsidy is the $682 benchmark minus what the government expects you to pay from your income. A 40 year old in Duval whose expected share is $180 a month or less would pay nothing for the cheapest bronze. At 60 the Duval gap grows to $383 and at 21 it shrinks to $141, which is why older enrollees are the ones most likely to find a $0 plan.

No other county on my list is close enough to Duval County to compare, so here is where it sits among the 20 Florida counties I track. Its benchmark is the 11th lowest of the 20 and its cheapest bronze is the 10th lowest. Duval has five carriers, where the busiest county has ten.

By network type the 142 Duval plans break down as 99 HMO, 19 EPO, 14 PPO and 10 POS. Only 14 are PPOs, and every one of them comes from Florida Blue. If seeing specialists without a referral matters to you, that narrows the Duval shelf to one company. 31 plans in Duval have a $0 medical deductible (15 expanded bronze, 11 platinum and 5 gold). The 15 bronze ones among them still have out of pocket maximums of $9,900 to $10,600, so a $0 deductible does not mean a small bill.

Every Duval price on this page is before subsidies, and most enrollees pay less. For a 40 year old in Duval the premium tax credit is measured against the $682 benchmark. Estimate your own subsidy, or send me your ZIP and I will run the Duval numbers for you.
