Health insurance plans in Marion County, Indiana (2026)

I pulled every 2026 marketplace plan sold in Marion County, Indiana out of the official CMS plan file. There are 56 plans from four carriers, and a 40 year old in Marion pays $476 a month at full price for the benchmark silver plan. That is $24 less than in Lake County, the other Indiana county I track. Across all 79 counties and parishes I track in 24 states, only one has a lower benchmark. Cigna and CareSource also sell in Marion now and are leaving for 2027, so some of your neighbors have to switch plans this fall. Below are the carriers, the plan counts, the full prices before subsidy, and what I think the numbers mean if you live in Indianapolis, Lawrence, Beech Grove, Speedway or anywhere else in the county.

Who sells marketplace plans in Marion County

Leaving Marion County for 2027

Cigna and CareSource sell 31 of the 56 plans in Marion County this year. Cigna is leaving the ACA individual market in every state where it sells, on and off exchange, for 2027. CareSource is leaving the Indiana individual market for 2027. After both exits, two carriers are left from the 2026 Marion lineup: Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield and Ambetter Health. If you are enrolled with either company in Marion, you will get a notice this fall. If you do nothing you are moved to a replacement plan picked on price and metal level, and nothing in that process checks your doctors or prescriptions.

What it costs in Marion County before any subsidy

These are the full monthly prices, before any premium tax credit, for the cheapest Marion plan at each metal level. I show the sticker price because it is what your subsidy is subtracted from, and most people who enroll in Marion pay less, often a lot less.

What these numbers mean if you live in Marion County

Marion County is one of 32 of the 79 counties and parishes on my list where the metal levels are priced in the order you would expect. The cheapest gold at 40 is $597, which is $121 above the benchmark silver and $128 above the cheapest silver. In Marion the extra gold premium pays for a lower deductible rather than coming free.

In Marion County the benchmark is $75 above the cheapest bronze at age 40, and one of the other 78 counties and parishes I track has a narrower one. That gap decides whether bronze can be free, because your subsidy is the $476 benchmark minus what the government expects you to pay from your income. A 40 year old in Marion whose expected share is $75 a month or less would pay nothing for the cheapest bronze. At 60 the Marion gap grows to $159 and at 21 it shrinks to $59, which is why older enrollees are the ones most likely to find a $0 plan.

Lake County, around Gary, is the other Indiana county I track. Compared with Lake County, the Marion benchmark is $24 lower at 40 and the cheapest bronze is $20 lower. Cigna sells in Marion and not in Lake County.

There is not a single PPO on the 2026 marketplace in Marion County. The 56 plans split into 45 HMO, 9 EPO and 2 POS. Outside emergencies, the 9 EPO and 45 HMO plans in Marion generally pay nothing out of network, so the network list matters more than the premium. 4 plans in Marion have a $0 medical deductible (2 gold and 2 platinum). They cost more each month, but nothing has to be spent before the plan starts paying.

Every Marion price on this page is before subsidies, and most enrollees pay less. For a 40 year old in Marion the premium tax credit is measured against the $476 benchmark. Estimate your own subsidy, or send me your ZIP and I will run the Marion numbers for you.
