Health insurance plans in Seminole County, Florida (2026)

I pulled every 2026 marketplace plan sold in Seminole County, Florida out of the official CMS plan file. There are 215 plans from ten carriers, and a 40 year old in Seminole pays $699 a month at full price for the benchmark silver plan. That puts Seminole in the middle of the 20 Florida counties I track, with 14 cheaper and 5 pricier. Across all 79 counties and parishes I track in 24 states, 16 have a higher benchmark. Cigna also sells in Seminole now and is leaving for 2027, so some of your neighbors have to switch plans this fall. Below are the carriers, the plan counts, the full prices before subsidy, and what I think the numbers mean if you live in Sanford, Altamonte Springs, Oviedo, Lake Mary or anywhere else in the county.

Who sells marketplace plans in Seminole County

No Florida county on my list has more carriers than Seminole County, with ten (tied with Orange County and Broward County). The biggest lineup in Seminole belongs to Florida Blue with 68 plans, about 32 percent of everything on offer.

Leaving Seminole County for 2027

Cigna sells 8 of the 215 plans in Seminole County this year. Cigna is leaving the ACA individual market in every state where it sells, on and off exchange, for 2027. After that exit, nine carriers are left from the 2026 Seminole lineup: Florida Blue, Ambetter Health, Florida Health Care Plans, Molina Healthcare, Oscar, UnitedHealthcare, AvMed, Wellpoint and AmeriHealth Caritas Next. If you are enrolled with Cigna in Seminole, you will get a notice this fall. If you do nothing you are moved to a replacement plan picked on price and metal level, and nothing in that process checks your doctors or prescriptions.

What it costs in Seminole County before any subsidy

These are the full monthly prices, before any premium tax credit, for the cheapest Seminole plan at each metal level. I show the sticker price because it is what your subsidy is subtracted from, and most people who enroll in Seminole pay less, often a lot less.

Monthly premium, full priceAge 21Age 40Age 60Couple, both 40Couple 40 + 2 kids
Lowest bronze$397$508$1,079$1,016$1,624
Lowest silver$542$693$1,471$1,386$2,215
Benchmark silver (second lowest)$547$699$1,485$1,398$2,235
Lowest gold$494$632$1,342$1,264$2,020
Lowest platinum$942$1,204$2,557$2,408$3,850

Benchmark silver is the second lowest of the 76 silver premiums listed for Seminole. The last column is two adults aged 40 plus two children.

What these numbers mean if you live in Seminole County

The gold row is the surprise in Seminole County. The cheapest gold plan for a 40 year old, $632 a month, is $61 cheaper than the cheapest silver plan at $693. That happens because Florida carriers load the cost of the extra silver discounts into silver premiums. If your income is too high for those discounts, silver is the worst value on the Seminole shelf, and a gold deductible here tops out at $3,000.

In Seminole County the benchmark is $191 above the cheapest bronze at age 40, and 31 of the other 78 counties and parishes I track have a wider one. That gap decides whether bronze can be free, because your subsidy is the $699 benchmark minus what the government expects you to pay from your income. A 40 year old in Seminole whose expected share is $191 a month or less would pay nothing for the cheapest bronze. At 60 the Seminole gap grows to $406 and at 21 it shrinks to $150, which is why older enrollees are the ones most likely to find a $0 plan.

Compared with nearby Orange County, the Seminole benchmark is $19 higher at 40 and the cheapest bronze is $7 higher. Florida Health Care Plans sells in Seminole and not in Orange County. Health First sells in Orange County and not in Seminole.

By network type the 215 Seminole plans break down as 153 HMO, 27 EPO, 21 POS and 14 PPO. Only 14 are PPOs, and every one of them comes from Florida Blue. If seeing specialists without a referral matters to you, that narrows the Seminole shelf to one company. 41 plans in Seminole have a $0 medical deductible (19 expanded bronze, 11 platinum, 9 gold and 2 silver). The 19 bronze ones among them still have out of pocket maximums of $9,900 to $10,600, so a $0 deductible does not mean a small bill.

Every Seminole price on this page is before subsidies, and most enrollees pay less. For a 40 year old in Seminole the premium tax credit is measured against the $699 benchmark. Estimate your own subsidy, or send me your ZIP and I will run the Seminole numbers for you.
